Maeda’s Heaven Burns Red Game Gets English Release
Get ready for the excitement! We’re thrilled to share that Anime Expo 2024, sponsored by Yen Press and Ize Press, is bringing you a special announcement from publisher Yostar Games!
The renowned creator, Jun Maeda, famous for his works on Kanon, Air, Clannad, and Angel Beats!, has his latest masterpiece, Heaven Burns Red, coming to English-speaking audiences on smartphones and PCs! To kick off the excitement, Yostar Games streamed an English trailer and launched an English website for the game, although platforms were left unconfirmed for now.
We’ve been waiting for this game since its initial launch in Japan in February 2022, and Yostar Games has finally given English-speaking fans a reason to rejoice!
Originally scheduled to arrive in 2020, Heaven Burns Red was delayed multiple times but is now poised to make its mark worldwide. Maeda’s first entirely new game in 13 years, the highly anticipated title is a collaboration with Visual Arts/Key and WFS.
Spectacular visuals and character designs from Yuugen, with original designs by Na-Ga, Fumuyun, and Maroyaka, bring this thrilling game to life. Maeda himself produced the music, including a theme song and insert songs with the talented Nagi Yanagi!
Besieged by mysterious life-forms known as “the Phage,” Earth is on the brink of destruction. With no solution to the Phage’s onslaught and forced to retreat, humanity has lost its last bastion of hope… until now. A revolutionary new weapon, “Seraph,” emerged, allowing those who master it to fight back against the Phage. Gathered to create the Seraph Squad, these special heroines, all with unique talents, possess the power to save humanity from the claws of extinction.
Riding the tides of war, Ruka Kayamori stands poised to sacrifice herself in the fight against the Phage.
Manga enthusiasts, rejoice! Kadokawa published the Heaven Burns Red Comic Anthology in September, featuring a cover illustration by the talented P Goto, along with stories from eight incredible manga creators. A four-panel manga, based on the game, has been serializing on Kadokawa’s G’s Channel website and Yostar’s official Twitter account.
