The latest news from the world of manga has dropped, and it’s big! The third compiled book volume of Kazuyoshi Takeda’s Peleliu Gaiden manga has revealed that the spinoff series will come to an end with its fourth compiled book volume around July 2025.

But don’t worry, manga fans – this spinoff has only just begun! Takeda launched the series in Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine back in March 2022, and it’s been a wild ride ever since.

So, what’s Peleliu Gaiden all about? Well, it’s a spinoff of the original Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise manga, which takes place during the Battle of Peleliu, a brutal and intense conflict that took place during World War II. The story follows Tamaru, a soldier with a passion for manga, as he fights for his country on the island of Peleliu. But what does he fight for, and what will he discover about himself in the process?

The main Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise manga, which launched in 2016, has already won numerous awards and accolades, including a nomination for the 25th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize and an award at the 46th Japan Cartoonist Awards. And now, the spinoff is set to conclude with its fourth compiled book volume.
