Get ready for some exciting news, anime fans! The official website for the TV anime of Chisato Abe‘s Karasu wa Aruji o Erabanai novel has confirmed that the 15th episode will be delayed by three weeks due to coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics! The Olympics will preempt the anime in its time slot on July 27, August 3, and August 10, but don’t worry, the 15th episode will air on August 17.

The anime’s new arc, based on the third novel in the series Kin no Karasu (The Golden Raven), kicked off with the 14th episode last Saturday. If you haven’t caught up yet, now’s the perfect time to dive in!

The anime premiered on NHK on April 6 at 11:45 p.m. JST (10:45 a.m. EDT), and you can stream it on Crunchyroll under the title YATAGARASU: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master.

So, who’s behind the scenes making this anime magic happen? Yoshiaki Kyougoku, known for his work on Laid-Back Camp, is directing the series at Studio Pierrot, while Yukiko Yamamuro is overseeing the series scripts. Takumo Norita is designing the characters, and Eishi Segawa is composing the music.

The yatagarasu (Japanese for mythical god-crows) are at the center of this world, able to shape-shift between human and crow forms, and live in the parallel world of Yamauchi, inspired by Heian-era Japan.

According to NHK, the story follows Yukiya, a young yatagarasu, as he becomes the personal attendant of the eccentric Crown Prince Wakamiya and gets entangled in a web of conspiracies attempting to overthrow the Imperial throne.

Abe launched the novel series in 2012, and the anime is based on the second novel, Karasu wa Aruji o Erabanai, released in 2013. The series has inspired manga adaptations, and you can catch up on the manga adaptation of the first two novels on Kodansha‘s K MANGA service with the title A Raven for All Seasons.
