This anime has been making waves since its premiere on April 5, and fans are eager to know what’s next. So far, it’s been a huge hit in Asia, but there’s been no official English release outside of the continent… until now?
Indonesia’s Catchplay+ streaming service has been streaming the anime with English subtitles since May 31, making it the first service to offer official English subtitles worldwide. And Thai distributor Cartoon Club is set to follow suit with a Thai dub in July!
So, what’s Girls Band Cry all about? Here’s what Toei Animation has to say:
The main character drops out of high school in her second year, and aims at entering a university while working alone in Tokyo.
A girl is betrayed by her friends and doesn’t know what to do.
Another girl is abandoned by her parents, and tries to survive in the city by doing part-time jobs.
This world lets us down all the time.
Nothing goes as planned.
But we want something that we can continue to like.
We believe there’s a place where we belong. That’s why we sing.
This powerful anime has been brought to life by a talented team, including director Kazuo Sakai, series composition by Jukki Hanada, character design by nari Teshima, and music composed by Kenji Tamai!
Stay tuned for more updates, and get ready to rock out with the girls of Girls Band Cry!
