Tabekko Dōbutsu Animal Biscuits Gets Anime Film Adaptation
Get ready for a wild ride! TBS just dropped the exciting news that the beloved Tabekko Dōbutsu brand of animal-shaped butter biscuits is getting an anime film, titled Tabekko Dōbutsu THE MOVIE, on May 1, 2025! The film will be screened at Shinjuku Wald 9 and other theaters across Japan. To get us hyped, the company revealed an early teaser visual and posters featuring the adorable characters.

Hitoshi Takekiyo, the mastermind behind After School Midnighters and FLCL: Grunge, is directing the film at Marza Animation Planet. Tetsuhiro Ikeda, known for his work on FLCL: Grunge and Inzai Aru Aru Monogatari, is writing the script. And Kotaro Sudo is planning and producing the film.
But wait, there’s more! Tabekko Dōbutsu biscuits have been a global phenomenon, shipping to over 20 countries and territories since 1978. These adorable animal-shaped snacks are sure to delight fans of all ages.
