We’ve got some awesome news for Shaman King fans! The X account for Kodansha‘s Magazine Pocket service just announced that Hiroyuki Takei’s brand new arc for his Shaman King manga, Shaman King The Super Star, will start its serialization on the platform on August 24!

We know you’ve been waiting patiently (or not so patiently) for Takei to continue his manga since it was first published in Shonen Magazine Edge back in 2018. The manga had some pretty epic hiatuses, but hey, good things come to those who wait! The previous chapters are already available on Magazine Pocket.
Kodansha has just released the manga’s eighth volume in Japan in December 2023. We’re also keeping an eye on the English publication, courtesy of Kodansha USA Publishing, who started releasing the manga digitally in October 2020. They also describe Shaman King The Super Star in a nutshell:
Can’t get enough SHAMAN KING goodness? Then hitch a ride with Alumi, Death Zero and other SHAMAN KING favorites in this action-packed spinoff, SHAMAN KING: THE SUPER STAR!
A quick recap of the series: it debuted in Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine back in 1998, took a short hiatus, and ended abruptly in 2004. But then, a mysterious “true ending” was revealed in 2009, followed by Shaman King 0 and Shaman King Flowers short story series. That’s a lot of Shaman King lore, if you ask us! But don’t worry, if you’re new to the series, the anime is easily accessible on Netflix. For those who can’t get enough Shaman King, there’s even more good news: a new anime will be premiering soon!
