San Diego Comic-Con hosts live-action Like a Dragon, Rick and Morty anime, and other celebrity panels.
Get ready for a summer of manga mayhem! This year’s Comic-Con International San Diego has revealed its programming schedule, and it’s packed with exciting panels and guests!
Manga creator Gou Tanabe, Studio Ghibli’s Hirokatsu Kihara, and others will attend the show in featured panels, including the “Dark Horse Manga: Discussing Lovecraft with Gou Tanabe” panel, where Tanabe will discuss the process of adapting H.P. Lovecraft’s work for the H.P. Lovecraft‘s The Shadow Over Innsmouth manga.
Monkey King artist Katsuya Terada will showcase live drawing during the “Manga Legend Katsuya Terada Live Drawing” panel, while the “Adult Swim‘s Rick and Morty: The Anime First Look” panel will feature the creative team behind the anime, including writer and director Takashi Sano.
Like a Dragon: Yakuza star Ryōma Takeuchi will speak at the “Prime Video: Like a Dragon: Yakuza” panel, and former Studio Ghibli production coordinator Hirokatsu Kihara will share behind-the-scenes stories and production art from the development of Studio Ghibli‘s Kiki’s Delivery Service during the “35th Anniversary Kiki’s Delivery Service” panel.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! The convention will also host Code Geass director Goro Taniguchi, Macross artist Hidetaka Tenjin, and Dark Machine creator Keiichi Yano, among others. Plus, Japanese pop star LiSA will perform in the “Crunchyroll Concert Series” on July 26.
