This new series is set in a buried dark history of the earth, where humans compete for bones. We meet a former Japanese military spy who’s addicted to opium, and he encounters a mysterious figure who could be humanity’s greatest enemy or ally – all tied to a powerful fossil that’s drawing in nations from around the world.

Hisa is known for his work on Nobunagun, which inspired a TV anime in 2014, and his more recent series, The Weakest Contestant in All Space and Time, which ran from 2019 to 2020. And Azuma has already impressed us with his work on Keishichō Zōshi: Fūtarō Meiji Gekijō, which ended its run in Morning magazine in 2021.
With their combined talents, Ryū to Rei is set to be an unforgettable ride. So mark your calendars for August 22, when the manga debuts in Morning magazine!
