The 9th volume of Nana Nanato’s VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream light novel series has dropped the bombshell that the main story will wrap up in the 10th volume! According to Nanato, the plan was set in motion when they finalized the fifth generation.
Nanato and Siokazunoko teamed up to launch the novel series in 2021, and J-Novel Club is handling the English translation. The story follows Yūki Tanaka, a former wage slave who now works as a VTuber for Live-On, one of Japan’s top VTuber companies.
Yūki’s life takes a wild turn when her drunken commentary goes viral overnight. Initially thinking her career is over, her manager reveals that everyone at Live-On has been waiting for her to let loose and gives her free rein to drink on-stream. With her new “rowdy drunk” character, Yūki’s views and finances skyrocket, and for the first time in her life, she’s having actual fun!
Roto Fujisaki is bringing the story to life with a manga adaptation in Kadokawa’s Comp Ace magazine, with the first compiled book volume released on June 25. The ongoing anime adaptation premiered on July 7 and is available to stream on Crunchyroll with an English dub!
