Mr. Osomatsu Anime Gets 4-Episode ‘Ultra-Short Anime’ Exclusive for Fan Club Members

Free preview of 1st of 4 episode ultrashort anime: Mr. Osomatsu airs on YouTube on Wednesday

The official website of Mr. Osomatsu announced a four-episode ultra-short anime to celebrate the fifth anniversary of its official fan club. Though the anime will be exclusively for fan club members, the first episode, titled “Otsuki-mi” (Moon Viewing), will be available to stream for free on Mr. Osomatsu’s YouTube channel on Wednesday at 6:06 p.m. JST (5:06 a.m. EDT).

A new fourth season of the anime has been announced.

Mr. Osomatsu is an anime inspired by Fujio Akatsuka’s Osomatsu-kun manga and “high tension comedy” TV anime, set in the Matsuno household with six mischievous brothers, all of whom are in love with Totoko. The original Osomatsu-kun followed the family when the boys were 10 years old. Mr. Osomatsu reimagines the manga and TV anime with the sextuplets as adults.

Mr. Osomatsu has three anime seasons (2015, 2017, and 2020) and three spin-off anime shorts, with a live-action film, and a series of animated shorts featuring Matsuinu, a line of dog character products inspired by the anime.

The franchise has plans for two new anime films, with limited theater releases in Japan in 2022 and 2023.

Last year, Matsuinu anime shorts debuted, building on the popularity of Matsuinu dog character products inspired by the anime.
