Mighty Nein Animated Series: First Look Unveiled

Get ready to embark on a thrilling adventure with Amazon Studios’ upcoming animated series, The Mighty Nein!

Amazon Studios has given us a sneak peek into its highly-anticipated animated adaptation of Critical Role’s second campaign, and it’s packed with action, humor, and heart! During a special presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, Amazon Studios unveiled a “sneak peak” of The Mighty Nein, featuring Jester (voiced by the talented Laura Bailey) on the run from city guards, only to stumble upon Fjord (Travis Willingham) who accidentally blasts the guards into submission. This epic scene never made it to the actual Critical Role show, as it occurred during a “Session Zero” that preceded the main campaign. Check it out below!

The Mighty Nein is the latest addition to Amazon’s partnership with Critical Role, the popular streaming production company behind the hit show Critical Role. As part of their ongoing collaboration, Amazon has been expanding into adult animated series and fantasy shows, with The Legend of Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein being prime examples of both.

The Mighty Nein is set in the same universe as The Legend of Vox Machina, but it’s not a direct sequel. Instead, it follows a new group of ragtag adventurers, The Mighty Nein, as they embark on a mostly accidental quest to stop a brewing conflict between the Dwendalian Empire and the Krynn Dynasty. The talented voice cast includes Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Sam Riegel, and Taliesin Jaffe.

No release date has been announced just yet, but with the cast already recording voiceovers, it’s likely that The Mighty Nein will drop in 2025. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to join the adventure!
