The video not only reveals the season’s premiere date – October 6th – but also gives us a sneak peek at the brand new opening theme song “ROCK ME KISS ME feat. MOTSU” by the talented Yū Serizawa.

And, if you’re in the New York area, you’re in luck! Crunchyroll is hosting a special premiere screening of the second season at Anime NYC on August 24th. Don’t miss out on this exclusive opportunity to catch the action-packed anime before anyone else!

The anime premiered in October 2023 on several Japanese channels, including Tokyo MX, BS11, and RKB Mainichi Broadcasting. And, of course, Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, so you can catch up on all the excitement!

The talented team behind the anime includes director Tomohito Naka, who’s worked on projects like Initial D Legend 2: Racer and Sword Gai: The Animation. The series scripts are being written by Kenichi Yamashita and Akihiko Inari, with character design by Naoyuki Onda and chief animation direction by Chiyoko Sakamoto. And, of course, the music is being composed by the legendary Akio Dobashi!

The series takes place in the 2020s, when self-driving cars are all the rage in Japan. The story follows Kanata Livington, a Japanese driver who’s returned to Japan after graduating at the top of his class at a racing school in England. And, of course, there’s the MFG, a racing circuit on public roads that’s gained worldwide attention.

Shuuichi Shigeno is the mastermind behind the MF Ghost manga, which launched in Kodansha‘s Young Magazine in September 2017. The manga has been a huge hit, and the anime adaptation is sure to be just as exciting!

Shigeno’s also the creator of the popular Initial D manga, which ended its run in Young Magazine in July 2013. The Initial D manga inspired several anime series, a live-action film, and even a successful game line!
