Summary
Ning Yue, a military doctor and special forces soldier, lost her life in a bomb explosion during a hostage rescue mission. Believing she had perished, Ning Yue was bewildered when she opened her eyes to find herself in ancient times, occupying the body of a woman with the same name but a different surname.
This woman’s father was a general, yet she had spent over ten years in the Ning Family Village, raised by her adoptive parents. A year ago, she was discovered by the people from the general’s residence and brought back. However, they returned her to the village a few months later. When the original body owner returned, she was already pregnant and gave birth to twin sons shortly thereafter.
Another year elapsed, and the village found itself in the midst of a severe drought. Everyone had to flee, including the original body owner, her two sons, and her slow-witted father. In essence, the present-day special forces soldier, Ning Yue, found herself transformed into an unmarried young woman who had bypassed the joys of love and skipped straight to motherhood. She had also inherited the dim-witted father and a body that had not eaten for two days, plagued by hunger pangs. But were these challenges the extent of her troubles? Far from it!
“Don’t eat my daughter! Don’t eat my daughter!” pleaded the original owner’s father. “The older one’s meat is tough, so it needs more time to cook. But these two little ones have tender meat, they just need a quick roast. We’ll save the big one for tomorrow!” Ning Yue, now perceived as food, looked up at the sky and muttered to herself, “Well, thank you so much for that!”
