Summary
Yin Tao, a modern forensic doctor, found herself transmigrated into a book, assuming the role of the older sister to the female lead, as well as serving as a supporting character in her story. After her reincarnation, the female lead prospered, successfully expanding the family business and marrying a handsome, talented man. Her career and love life flourished, bringing her immense happiness.
However, Yin Tao, who resided with her grandparents in the book’s narrative, harbored deep-seated jealousy toward the female lead. Her family showered the female lead with favoritism, leaving Yin Tao in the shadows. As Yin Tao grew up and pursued a career as a forensic doctor, her family, unable to comprehend her work, ostracized her. Eventually, succumbing to familial pressure, she reluctantly quit her job and married into a wealthy family.
From that point on, Yin Tao was forced to play the role of a people-pleaser, relying on her own family and children for support. Unhappy with the path she had taken, Yin Tao yearned to break free from the constraints of the original storyline and live a simpler, more fulfilling life. Consequently, she promptly moved out of her family’s home and settled into a dormitory, immersing herself in her work as a criminal investigator. She confronted corpses daily and utilized her knowledge of the book’s plotline to earn a living.
Just as Yin Tao’s life began to improve, and she believed she had escaped the clutches of the predetermined narrative, a murder case connected her to the male supporting character, who had an infatuation with the female lead. Unexpectedly, Feng Jing, the male supporting character, became her direct superior. Fortunately, he showed no interest in her whatsoever. One fateful day, Yin Tao and Feng Jing found themselves standing before a bloated cadaver salvaged from a river. As Feng Jing’s eyes widened, he looked at Yin Tao with an enigmatic glimmer. Anxious, Yin Tao spoke hastily, “Don’t fall in love with me. I’m merely a myth.”
Silence enveloped Feng Jing as he stood there, rendered speechless.
