Magical DoReMi Unveils 2nd 25th Anniversary Video

Happy Birthday to Doremi Harukaze! New Video Unveiled!

Get ready to reminisce about the magical world of Ojamajo DoreMi! The staff has just released a new video to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this beloved anime, and it’s a must-watch! The video features the enchanting song “Watashi no Tsubasa” by Masami Nakatsukasa, an ending theme song from the anime’s fourth and final season, Ojamajo DoreMi DOKKAAN!, back in 2002.

The video was storyboarded by Junichi Satō, the director of the original anime, and directed by Tatsuya Nagamine, an episode director on the original anime. Yoshihiko Umakoshi returned to design the characters and served as animation director for the video.

But that’s not all! The staff debuted the first 25th anniversary video back in March at AnimeJapan, and it featured newly animated glimpses of the main characters as they grow up. It’s a real treat for fans of the franchise!

The Ojamajo DoreMi franchise has been delighting audiences for over two decades, with the original anime series premiering in Japan in 1999. And who can forget the heavily edited version that was broadcast in the United States under the title Magical DoReMi back in 2005?

In 2019, the franchise celebrated its 20th anniversary with “Ojamajo DoreMi 20-shūnen Carnival” (Ojamajo DoreMi 20th Anniversary Carnival), a special event held at the Tokyo International Forum Hall C. It featured a concert, a stage reading, a live drawing event, and talk show featuring the anime’s voice actresses and staff.

And in 2020, the anime film “Looking for Magical DoReMi (Majo Minarai o Sagashite)” commemorating the 20th anniversary of Ojamajo DoreMi opened, and it even won the Best Animation Film award at the 75th Mainichi Film Awards in 2021!
