Serial killer suspense film opens on September 6
The official website for the live-action film of Tarō Nogizaka’s Natsume Arata no Kekkon (Arata Natsume’s Marriage) manga has released a featurette video, which showcases the cast discussing their experiences on set and providing a glimpse into the film’s story. The video is now available to stream on the official website.
The film, directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi (20th Century Boys, Beck, Ikebukuro West Gate Park), will be released in Japan on September 6. The theme song is “Vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo.
The cast includes Yuuya Yagira (live-action Gintama’s Tōshirō Hijikata) as Arata and Yuina Kuroshima (live-action Fullmetal Alchemist’s Lan Fan) as Shinju Shinagawa.
In the story, Arata, a former delinquent who works at a children’s welfare center, proposes marriage to Shinju, a serial killer on death row, in an attempt to uncover the truth behind her crimes.
The Natsume Arata no Kekkon manga, which ran in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior magazine from June 2019 to January 2024, has sold 2.4 million copies and has been adapted into a live-action television series four times previously.
