Akira Satou (Ao Ashi) is at the helm of this epic anime, produced by Production I.G. Makoto Fukami (Tengoku Daimakyou) is handling the series composition, and Hirotaka Marufuji (Lupin III: Part 6) is designing the characters. Yasuharu Takanashi (Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu) is crafting the music.
The anime is an adaptation of Yudetamago’s action comedy manga, which was serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump from 1979 to 1987. The manga made a comeback in 2011, and Shueisha shipped the 85th volume on July 4.
But that’s not all! Weekly Playboy serialized two sequel manga from 1997 to 2011. Shueisha released the second manga’s 28th and final volume in December 2011.
