Bummer news, anime fans! The official website of the highly-anticipated Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen Season II (Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World Season 2) has just announced that episode 5 will be delayed indefinitely to ensure top-notch production quality! But don’t worry, the summer season won’t be entirely crapped out – select episodes of the first season will be replacing the delayed episode for the rest of the summer.

So, who’s behind this exciting second season? Well, it’s none other than director Yuki Inaba (Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudou) at Studio Palette and SILVER LINK! And if you’re a fan of the first season, you’ll be pleased to know that Studio Palette is also taking care of the series composition, along with Shunsuke Ishikawa (Blue Lock: Episode Nagi director). Kaori Yoshikawa (Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru chief animation director) is handling the character designs, and Ryuota Tomaru, Seima Iwahashi, and Ryouta Fujinaga from Elements Garden are bringing the music to life!

Now, for those who are curious about the source material, Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen Season II is based on the action fantasy light novel series by Sazane, which started in May 2017. The 15th volume was published in June 2023, with the 16th volume scheduled for release on September 20. And if you’re thinking of getting your hands on a physical copy, Kadokawa published the 15th volume in June 2023, with the 16th volume scheduled to be released on September 20!

But that’s not all! Young Animal also serialized a manga adaptation by okama (Himawari!) from May 2018 to March 2021. And if you’re a manga fan, you’ll be excited to know that Yen Press licensed both the light novel and manga adaptation in English in February 2019. The 13th light novel volume went on sale on July 23. The seventh manga volume shipped in October 2023.
