Kenta Shinohara’s Witch Watch Manga Adapted into TV Anime


Get ready for some magical mayhem! Shueisha‘s iconic Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has just announced that Kenta Shinohara‘s hilarious manga, Witch Watch, is inspiring a brand new TV anime that’s set to debut in April 2025!

The anime will be directed by Hiroshi Ikehata (TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) with assistant director Masao Kawase (Kiratto Pri☆Chan, Magical Destroyers) at Bibury Animation Studio. The series will feature scripts by Deko Akao (Shadowverse, Suppose a Kid From the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town), character designs by Haruko Iizuka (Ensemble Stars!, Sugar Apple Fairy Tale), and more!

Kusanagi‘s Ping Xue (Fuuka, Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s New Dinosaur) serves as the art director, with Kusanagi‘s Takeuchi Yuzuki and Masayuki Niizuma (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation II) handling art setting. Yuiha Ōta is the color key artist, Hisashi Yonezawa (Is This a Zombie?) is the compositing director of photography, and Mutsumi Takemiya (The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You) is editing the series. Yukari Hashimoto (Mr. Osomatsu, Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun) is composing the music, and Fumiyuki Go (BLUELOCK, Kaiju No. 8) is the sound director.

For those who haven’t caught on yet, Witch Watch is a hilarious and magical comedy series by Kenta Shinohara, creator of SKET DANCE and Astra Lost in Space. The manga has been published in Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since February 2021, and the 18th compiled book volume is set to be released on September 4.
