“Kakkou no Iinazuke” Gets Second Season in 2025

Get ready to swoon! The official website of the anime adaptation of Miki Yoshikawa’s hit manga Kakkou no Iinazuke (A Couple of Cuckoos) has just dropped a major bombshell: a second season is coming in 2025!

Produced by the talented teams at SynergySP and Shin-Ei Animation, the first season aired from April to October 2022 and consisted of 24 episodes. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime worldwide, excluding Asia, so fans around the globe can rejoice!

Manga fans, take note! Yoshikawa originally published Kakkou no Iinazuke as a one-shot in Weekly Shounen Magazine in September 2019, followed by a serialization in the magazine the following January. The 23rd volume was released on July 17, and Kodansha USA has licensed the series for digital release in English.

So, what’s the story all about? Nagi Umino and Erika Amano, two high school students who couldn’t be more different, discover they were swapped at birth. Their parents concoct a plan to get them engaged to restore them to their rightful families, but Nagi and Erika are having none of it! Will they find a way to overcome their differences and make their relationship work?
