Get ready to dive back into the world of Gun Gale Online! Aniplex, Kadokawa, and Anime Matsuri just dropped some exciting news – Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II is coming to Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 on October 4, and MBS and TV Aichi on October 5!

Tomori Kusunoki is returning as the main lead Llenn, and she’ll be joined by other familiar faces, including Yōko Hikasa as Pitohui, Chinatsu Akasaki as Fukaziroh, and Kazuyuki Okitsu as M.

The anime is directed by Masayuki Sakoi, who’s no stranger to action-packed adventures. He’s also brought in Yōsuke Kuroda to oversee the series scripts and Yoshio Kosakai to handle character design and chief animation direction.

So, what’s the story all about? Well, we meet Karen Kohiruimaki, a college student who’s a bit of a shy and awkward 183-centimeter-tall (6-foot-tall) introvert. But in the world of Gun Gale Online, she transforms into the pink-clad Llenn, a sassy and confident avatar who’s not afraid to take on the challenge. When she meets Pitohui, a beautiful and skilled player, she finds herself drawn into the world of team Battle Royale and the Bullet of Bullets tournament.

The anime is based on Keiichi Sigsawa’s light novel series, which is a spinoff of Reki Kawahara’s popular Sword Art Online light novel series. The first season premiered in April 2018 and ran for 13 episodes.
