Gachiakuta creator responds to Soul Eater haters with a viral social media post.

Gachiakuta’s creator goes viral for shutting down a big Soul Eater hater

Gachiakuta‘s creator, Kei Urana, has gone viral for their response to a Soul Eater hater online. Urana’s Gachiakuta has been gaining popularity since its debut in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2022, and its anime adaptation is set to premiere next year. But what’s also helping the series gain traction is Urana’s defense of other major franchises, including Soul Eater, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Atsushi Okubo’s Soul Eater is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Japan with a new art exhibition, and Urana took to social media to express their interest in attending the event. When someone responded with a negative comment about Soul Eater, Urana fired back with a blunt response: “Soul Eater: god[.] You go to work.” The response was so effective that the original comment was deleted, and fans are now eagerly anticipating the Gachiakuta anime.

What Is Gachiakuta?

Gachiakuta was originally created by Kei Urana in 2022 for Weekly Shonen Magazine, with graffiti art attributed to Hideyoshi Anno. The anime adaptation will be directed by Fumihiko Suganama for studio Bones, with Hiroshi Seko handling the scripts, Satoshi Ishino handling character designs, and serving as chief animation director. The original Gachiakuta manga is now available in stores, and fans can get a head start on the series before the anime premieres.

Kodansha teases what to expect from Gachiakuta: “Rudo lives in the slums of a floating town, where the poor scrape by under the shadow of the rich who live a sumptuous life, simply casting their garbage off the side, into the abyss. Then one day, he’s falsely accused of murder, and his wrongful conviction leads to an unimaginable punishment—exile off the edge, with the rest of the trash. Down on the surface, the cast-off waste of humanity has bred vicious monsters, and if Rudo wants to have any hope of discovering the truth and seeking vengeance against those who cast him into Hell, he will have to master a new power and join a group known as the Cleaners who battle the hulking trash beasts of the Pit!”
