Bandai Namco Entertainment America and Look North World Launch Fortnite Event for Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance

Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced the launch of Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance: Red vs. Blue, a special in-game event for Fortnite inspired by the animated series Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance. A promotional video was also released to showcase the event.

The event features a custom map and weapons directly from the series. Players form two teams of up to 20 members each, competing to collect 200 MS Reactor Powers in an intense combat scenario. This collaboration merges the action-packed worlds of Fortnite and Gundam, offering fans a unique gameplay experience.

The six-episode, 30-minute Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance began streaming exclusively on Netflix worldwide on October 17. Set on the European front during the One Year War, which was made famous by the original Gundam anime, the series follows Iria Solari, with iconic mecha including the Zeon Zaku II and the Federation’s Gundam.

During the week of October 14-20, the series ranked #7 on Netflix’s global top 10 TV list for English titles. The first season of the show attracted 2.4 million views and accumulated 5.8 million hours of viewing time.

Produced by Sunrise and Safe House, the animation was created using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5. The series was written by Gavin Hignight, known for Tekken: Bloodline and Transformers: Cyberverse, and directed by German artist Erasmus Brosdau. The project featured the talents of Naohiro Ogata and Hignight as executive producers, with Hiroaki Yura producing. The character design was led by Manuel Augusto Dischinger Moura, while Kimitoshi Yamane served as the mechanical design supervisor. The music was composed by Wilbert Roget II.

Celia Massingham, an Australian actress known for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Ladies in Black, voiced the lead character and also performed the motion-capture animation for the series.
