Detective Conan Film Drops to #4, Bocchi the Rock! Compilation Film Drops to #7

Detective Conan: Hyakuman Doru no Michishirube Sets Box Office Record

The latest Detective Conan: Hyakuman Doru no Michishirube film has achieved yet another milestone, becoming the first Japanese-animated film franchise to have two consecutive films pass 10 billion yen (about US$94.4 million) in earnings in Japan!

The film ranked #2 in its 11th weekend, selling 82,000 tickets and earning 115,888,770 yen (about US$726,600) from Friday to Sunday. With a cumulative total of 10.52 million tickets sold and 15.06 billion yen (about US$94.4 billion) earned, it has outperformed Makoto Shinkai‘s Suzume, which reached the milestone in February 2023.

The film surpassed the earnings of the previous film in the franchise, Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine, which earned 13.83 billion yen (about US$88.2 million). The film is now the highest-grossing film in the franchise!

Bocchi the Rock! Compilation Film

The Bocchi the Rock! compilation film, titled Bocchi the Rock! Re:, dropped from #4 to #7 in its third weekend. With a cumulative total of 479,073,424 yen (about US$3.02 million), the film is not doing too shabby!

The second film, Bocchi the Rock! Re:Re:, is set to open on August 9.

Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Shinjidai no Tobira

The latest anime film in the Uma Musume Pretty Derby franchise, Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Beginning of a New Era, dropped from #5 to #9 in its fifth weekend. With a cumulative total of 1.16 billion yen (about US$7.24 million), the film is steadily gaining momentum!

The live-action film of Sōichirō Yamamoto‘s manga, Teasing Master Takagi-san, dropped off the top 10 in its fourth weekend.
