Dark Horse Comics is revving up the engines with the announcement of a new omnibus edition of Kenichi Sonoda‘s Gunsmith Cats manga, complete with lettering and retouching by Studio Cutie.

Step into the world of Rally Vincent, a tough-as-nails bounty hunter who’s always dressed to kill – literally! When she’s not running her gun shop, Gunsmith Cats, with her partner Minnie-May Hopkins, Rally’s on the hunt for the most notorious fugitives in Chicago. But with corrupt lawyers, cops, and criminals hot on her tail, she’s got her work cut out for her.

“This series is a non-stop, action-packed, nostalgia-filled love letter to those buddy cop blockbuster movies of the 1980s and 90s… For those who’ve never ridden shotgun with the ladies of the Gunsmith Cats gunshop, be prepared for the violence and action of Hellsing mixed with the blatant organized crime of games like Grand Theft Auto. Anything could happen in 1990’s Chicago, and it usually does!”

Join Rally and Minnie-May as they take on corrupt lawyers, fetish-fueled hitmen, and crazed cocaine kingpins in a whirlwind of double-crosses, car chases, and shootouts! The first omnibus volume drops on February 4, 2025, featuring 596 pages of non-stop action for $29.99.

Not familiar with Gunsmith Cats? No worries! The manga has been released in nine volumes from 1996 to 2002, and then in a four-volume revised edition in 2007. The company also released the Gunsmith Cats Burst sequel from 2007 to 2010.

And if you’re curious about the anime adaptation, Gunsmith Cats OAV originally shipped in Japan from 1995 to 1996, and was later released on VHS and DVD. In 2019, AnimEigo launched a Kickstarter campaign to release the anime on Blu-ray Disc, which they did in 2019!
