Cobra Anime Gets Sidescrolling Game in 2025
Microids announces PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Switch release of Space Adventure Cobra: The Awakening, a side-scrolling game based on Buichi Terasawa’s anime manga.
The game is set to launch next year on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.com, as well as PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
The game will cover the story from the first 12 anime episodes, focusing on Captain Nelson’s treasure.
Buichi Terasawa’s manga Space Adventure Cobra was originally published in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1978 to 1984, and was later adapted into a 31-episode television anime and film. The sequel manga Cobra: Over the Rainbow was launched in 2019.
Nozomi Entertainment previously released the TV anime on DVD and streaming services, while Discotek Media released the TV anime on Blu-ray and Ultra-High Definition Blu-ray. Discotek also released the film on DVD and Blu-ray.
