Celebrated manga artist Kei Ohkubo surprised fans on July 10 by announcing that the Arte manga will be ending in a few chapters. But don’t worry, the series will be taking a break in July before returning with an irregular publishing schedule, with new chapters released every other month starting in August. The next chapter will be published in Tokuma Shoten‘s Monthly Comic Zenon!
Comikey has been publishing the series in English and describes the story as:
In 16th century Florence, where women were relegated to the role of wives and caretakers, a young noble girl named Arte dreams of being an artist’s apprentice. One day she stumbles upon the workshop of the eccentric Maestro Leo, who decides to accept her as his student. Follow Arte on her journey as she discovers the joy and struggles on the path to becoming a maestro.
Ohkubo launched the manga in Monthly Comic Zenon in October 2013, and Tokuma Shoten published the manga’s 19th compiled book volume on April 19. The series has also been digitally published in English by North Stars Pictures and Tokuma Shoten, as well as by Media Do on digital platforms in 2018.
