So, how did Toriyama want to differentiate between these two Trunks? Simple: by making the main timeline Trunks a hero! By becoming a hero like Great Saiyaman, Trunks has finally carved out his own identity, separate from Future Trunks’ tumultuous past. And trust us, it’s a game-changer. Future Trunks has been through the wringer, and his worldview is still reeling from those dark experiences. But in the main series, this Trunks is all about heroism – and it’s a refreshing change of pace.
